Strongly acidic and weakly acidic gel and macroporous cation exchange resins are offered in various ionic forms to suit the specific application. Strongly acidic cations are most commonly used in the hydrogen or sodium forms. Hydrogen form for higher purity applications where full cation deionization is desired and sodium form for softening type applications. Several different crosslinking levels are offered to best accommodate specific application needs. Strongly acidic macroporous cations are used in catalytic applications in addition to typical deionization types. Weakly acidic cations are often used in the hydrogen form for a variety of applications and are more easily regenerated with near stoichiometric quantities of regenerant chemicals.
