Distilled Spirits

Filtration of distilled spirits can be different than that of other alcoholic beverages due to high alcohol levels which prevent the presence of microbes. The concerns are more visual and aromatic, and due to the high cost per volume, product loss is of concern.  Contaminants can vary greatly, ranging from carbon from aging (char) or the mellowing process to colloidal materials from fruit-based additions to haze formation that can occur post-processing. Systems are designed to ensure the best flavor, color and clarity are achieve in the final product.
