The Industrial Painter is responsible for applying Industrial Paint to carbon steel and stainless-steel welded pressure vessels and works in the Final Assembly& Hydro departments. The position requires following the documented process steps to sandblast, prep, prime, paint final product, using available machinery and hand tools to meet required specifications. Previous experience is a plus but willing to train.
Position Responsibilities:
· Read and understand Job Packages & Work Instructions
· Pull inventory from stock as necessary.
· Keep track of raw materials and request supplies to keep the department replenished.
· Entering and operating an enclosed sandblasting machine to clean & prepare surfaces.
· Apply paint, enamel, and epoxy paints to welded structures, using spray guns & brushes when necessary.
· Selects paint according to provided specifications.
· Selects and mixes paints per provided specifications to thin or promote drying and adhesion.
· Assists with the procurement of paints& supplies necessary for production.
· Uses high air-pressure sand blasting equipment, washing equipment and other abrasives to remove rust, grease, dirt, prior to paint application.
· Use appropriate tools and processes (hand tools, machinery etc.) to assemble products to meet required specifications.
· Disassemble paint and sand blasting equipment to clean and maintain equipment, as deemed necessary.
· Communicates regularly with team members and management regarding concerns, discrepancies, and continuous improvement efforts/ideas.
· Follows Graver Technologies work safety requirements and works safely in general all the time.
· Maintains clean and organized work area.
· Other duties as assigned and/or needed.
Requirements:
· Highschool diploma or GED.
· Previous experience is a plus but willing to train.
· Ability to read, write and interpret general documents such as work instructions, manuals and job packages.
· Ability to communicate in verbal and written form to supervisor on questions specific to processes and manufacturing status.
· Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and do basic math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and divide.
· Previous experience in a Manufacturing Environment is highly preferred.
· Previous experience with Industrial Assembly is highly preferred.
· Availability to work overtime as required
· Self-motivated and maintains a high level of attendance.
· Ability to lift on average 50lbs of weight and move about 20ft.
· Ability to stand the entire shift.
