CHEMICAL
PROCESSING
The chemical processing industry faces a wide range of purification challenges.
These problems include feedstock quality improvement, re-cycle of costly
ingredients, by-product quality up-grade, final product quality improvement
and recovery of precious metal catalysts.
Ecosorb products are used to remove organic and inorganic impurities
from chemical process streams to improve overall process economics. Common
applications include removing contaminants from feedstock solutions and
brines, maximizing precious metal recovery for recycle, meeting critical
specifications and improving final product quality, minimizing process
excursions, and purifying streams for recycle.
Consler brand filters are used extensively throughout the Chemical
and Petrochemical Processing industries. In the petroleum refining markets
Consler brand filters are used in liquid and gas applications for both
particulate retention and air / gas coalescing. In Plastics manufacturing
plants our products are used for air intake, compressed gasses, pneumatic
air, guard filters, and nitrogen blanket filters. In the harsh environment
of nitric acid and ammonium nitrate production, Consler brand filters
set the industry standard for precious metal catalyst recovery in both
the hot gas phase and liquid phase of production.
Powerguard filter products offers contamination control solutions
for general chemical applications such as inks, dyes, coatings, plating
and petrochemicals to the more complex and critical applications of microlithography,
CMP slurries, DI water and high purity chemicals. Utilizing an array of
media types and ratings, filtration efficiency and capacity are optimized
to provide reduced defects, high yields and maximum economy.
Consler brand filters are the solution when dirt loading and flow
rates make standard filter cartridges ineffective. Consler brand filters
are an oversize design with large diameter radial fin filter elements.
The radial fin design reduces the number of sealing surfaces, minimizes
the number of cartridges in a housing, and often reduces the overall size
of the filter housing required. All this, while at the same time increasing
dirt holding capacities.
Filtration Engineering brand filters keep pneumatic conveying systems
working smoothly with self cleaning PulseJet systems. And the FE®
line of mist eliminators keep the exhaust from vacuum pumps oil free.
Scepter crossflow membranes and modules are uniquely constructed
of 316L stainless steel and ceramics. There are no other materials of
construction. Capture of sub-micron particles can often improve yields
over centrifuge and vacuum filter unit operations. The membrane modules
are designed and fabricated to the ASME pressure vessel code. Resembling
shell and tube HXs, single modules can have membrane areas as great as
8000 ft2 (800 m2). This greatly simplifies and reduces system costs and
space requirements. Can be designed for extremes in temperature and pressure
that would easily destroy other membranes. Also available in high nickel
alloys.
